Demulsifier
In the context of the oil and gas industry, demulsifiers are commonly used to separate water(salts) from Crude oil&Production Fluid .Demulsifiers work by adsorbing onto the water-oil interface and destabilizing the emulsion. They can alter the interfacial tension between the oil and water phases, reduce the surface charge, or modify the emulsion droplet size, thereby promoting the coalescence of water droplets( the salts in the oil are also dissolved in the water droplets) and facilitating their separation. The types of Demulsifiers based on their chemical composition and mode of action. Common types include surfactant-based demulsifiers, polymeric demulsifiers, and natural demulsifiers derived from plants or microorganisms.

Defoamer
Defoamer( antifoaming agent), is used to reduce or eliminate foam in industrial processes or products. They typically consist of surface-active agents, oils, waxes, or silicones that have low surface tension and can spread across the foam surface, rupturing the bubbles and releasing the trapped air.

Reverse Demulsifier
Surfactant-based Reverse Demulsifiers: Surfactants are often used as demulsifiers due to their ability to reduce surface tension and destabilize the emulsion. They can adsorb at the oil-water interface, modify interfacial properties, and promote the coalescence of oil droplets. Polymer-based Reverse Demulsifiers: Polymers can be used as demulsifiers to destabilize oil-in-water emulsions. These polymers can help in bridging oil droplets, forming aggregates, and facilitating their separation from the water phase.
Corrosion Inhibitor
Passivating Inhibitors: Passivating inhibitors form a protective layer on the metal surface, which acts as a barrier between the metal and the corrosive environment. Examples of passivating inhibitors include compounds containing chromates, phosphates, or molybdates. Anodic Inhibitors: Anodic inhibitors work by altering the electrochemical reactions at the anodic sites on the metal surface, slowing down the corrosion process. They typically act by forming insoluble precipitates or complexes on the metal surface. Examples include compounds containing zinc, nickel, or cobalt. Cathodic Inhibitors: Cathodic inhibitors work by reducing the oxygen concentration or slowing down the cathodic reaction, thereby inhibiting corrosion. They can include compounds such as oxygen scavengers or compounds containing amines.
